The Bull supports a very worthwhile charity – Iain Rennie Hospice. We hope to help Iain Rennie wherever possible, donating money to help with providing nursing care to patients who have terminal or life-threatening illness. Iain Rennie will care for patients in their own home for those who do not want to leave the family home. This is a 24hr on call service and the money The Bull raises will go towards helping these nurses provide the support and care for all patients.

Any charity money raised at The Bull Hotel will be given to Iain Rennie, this may be through Sarova Preference a bookers loyalty scheme, donations and staff fundraising, everyone can get involved.

‘We are delighted that The Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross, part of Sarova Hotels Limited, has chosen the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home as their Charity of the Year and very much look forward to working with them over the coming year. Many of our patients and their families live within the Gerrards Cross area so it is very fitting that the Hotel has chosen a charity that benefits local residents. The following facts about IRHH highlight our need for support from companies in helping us to raise much needed funds; all funds generated by The Bull Hotel will be put to excellent use in helping our nurses to continue providing their invaluable service to patients and their families throughout the Chilterns area’

• The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home provides specialist nursing care for patients in the Chilterns area of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire with a terminal or life-threatening illness.
• Iain Rennie nurses offer a 24 hour on-call service to anyone living with a terminal illness who wishes to be cared for in their own home.
• The service is offered free of charge by Iain Rennie Hospice at Home to patients and families.
• It costs £3.5m to fund our nursing and family support services
• IRHH has to raise almost £3.1m of this ourselves through fundraising activities (Community, Appeals, Legacies, Trusts) and our Retail & Trading operations
• IRHH receives 12% funding from the PCT, a drop of 4% on last year. The national average for hospices is 31%
• We cared for 905 patients in 2008/09
