Bucks Railway Steaming Day

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre offers a great day out for all the family. This working Steam Museum has one of the largest railway collections in the UK, and a Visitor Centre displaying historic exhibits and stories of yesteryear including the Great Train Robbery, events of which took place nearby.

Whilst older visitors will enjoy reminiscing the golden age of rail travel with a ride behind a vintage steam locomotive, and looking around over 30 locomotives, carriages and wagons, younger visitors can enjoy a ride on the 1 km-long miniature railway complete with crossings, loops, stations and tunnels. On certain days of the year, younger visitors can meet Thomas the Tank Engine, and they can shake hands and have their photograph taken with The Fat Controller. Dates and further information can be found here.

Not far from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is the Bull Hotel. So why not make your weekend complete and stay at The Bull and enjoy free WiFi to upload all your videos and pictures to your favourite social networks, before enjoying complimentary hot beverages and a long, much-needed soak in the bath with our luxury Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
