Gerrards Cross Christmas

Christmas 2016 in Buckinghamshire

Posted by Lucy Parkin on 2nd December, 2016

December is finally here and Christmas is just around the corner, so why not get into the Christmas spirit by getting out and about at some of Buckinghamshire’s best Christmas events? Nothing will get you feeling festive like a trip to a local fair, or some family fun at the pantomime. Here are some of the very best Christmas events in Buckinghamshire to get you ready for December 25th:

Gerrards Cross Christmas Festival 2016

Every year Gerrards Cross Christmas lights switch on is accompanied by a magical festival that transforms Packhorse Road, Station Road and Oak End Way into a wonderful winter wonderland. This year, the festivities will take place on Wednesday 7th December, starting at 6pm. You can enjoy some late night shopping, unique handmade gifts, fun fair rides, and performances from local choirs. Some of our lovely staff from the Bull Hotel will be attending to spread some Christmas cheer, so keep an eye out and say hello!

Marlow Santa Fun Run

The Santa Fun Run gets bigger and better every year, and this year we will see the 12th annual run take place across the streets of Marlow. On Sunday 4th December, Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave will start the 5k run, and will present the final winners with their awards. With 2500 entrants due to join the run this year, it is an event not to be missed! There will also be a performance from the local Jam Theatre Company for all those who come along to watch.

Beaconsfield Festival of Lights

The annual procession along station road will be starting at 7pm on 14th December, and will include a spectacular laser light show, children’s lantern procession, bouncy castles and late night shopping. In addition to all this, you can celebrate the festivities in a Champagne tent sponsored by Moet & Chandon.

Gerrards Cross Pantomime

Pantomimes are the perfect way to get all the family together for some fun over the festive season! This December, Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre is hosting 6 magical performances of Dick Whittingdon and His Cat; a heart warming rags to riches tale of a young man and his cat on an adventure for fortune and fame.
