The Henley Show 2014
Traditionally held on the second Saturday in September, the Henley Show has been held annually in various locations since 1898, with this year’s show taking place at the Henley Showground in Hambleden.
Described as the best one-day Agricultural show, this year will not disappoint. Richard Savory returns with his popular dancing sheep. The JRCS Falconry Display Team will be performing two displays with their fantastic Falcons and trainers along with a static display so that you can see these magnificent birds up close. Working gun dogs will demonstrate their skills during the Game Goer displays and the Companion Dog Show will take place in the Village Green for both pedigree and novelty classes. More information on exact timings of events can be found at the Henley Show website.
Working horses and ponies will be taking part in lots of exciting events, and awards will be given for the best of cattle breeds and poultry. The produce tent will have over 80 classes of crafts, floral arrangements, fruit and vegetables, and the day would not be complete without a visit to the Food & Wine Tent and Shopping Arcade with over 100 trade stands. For the more adventurous, there will be a Rodeo bull for you to prove your endurance skills.
But, if that bull proves a little too exhausting, come along to a more relaxing Bull and take advantage of our modernised bedrooms and relaxing lounge bar and award-winning restaurant. And if you are an early planner, our Christmas offers are now live! Breakfast with Santa for the young ones, or fantastic Christmas parties for the adults; we have it all.
