Summer Holidays in Buckinghamshire

The end of the Summer Term is upon us and panic is setting in to parents all across the country as they ask themselves; how am I going to keep the kids entertained for 6 whole weeks?!

Don’t start tearing your hair out just yet, because we have come up with some ideas to keep the little ones busy in Buckinghamshire this Summer:

Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery:

Based at Buckinghamshire County Museum, the Roald Dahls Children’s Gallery is a fantastic place to let imaginations run wild. Guaranteed to be heaps of fun for children, and having won 2 major awards for education, you know it will be a fulfilling day out. Dive deep into Roald Dahl’s classic tails such as James and the Giant Peach, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and Matilda. Open Monday to Saturday throughout the school holidays, why not pair it with a trip to the pictures to see Disney’s The BFG? Released in cinemas this Friday 22nd July.

Gulliver’s Land Theme Park:

For thrill-seeking children, Gulliver’s Land is the perfect day trip. Ideal for kids from 2-13 years old with over 70 rides attractions and shows. Cool down in the Splash Zone or discover exciting creatures in the Dinosaur and Farm Park.

The Hell-Fire Caves:

Over 400 metres under the ground of High Wycombe, discover the caves and tunnels that were excavated in the 1750’s. A truly unique family adventure, especially if you are in need of something to do on a rainy day.

Go Ape:

Get the kids active and on their feet this summer. Go Ape Black Park is set within the stunning Country Park that was shortlisted for the Beautiful South Awards 2013. Channel your inner Tarzan and swing through the 520 acres on stunning woodland on the Go Ape classic Tree Top Adventure.

Zoorassic Park at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo:

Between the 23rd July and 4th September, Whipsnade Zoo is introducing life-size animatronic dinosaurs for their brand new summer exhibit. Perfect for an educational visit for dinosaur lovers, your little ones can learn about the fascinating creatures that roamed the earth more than 65 million years ago. With everything from fossil digging to face painting, there is something for all the family.

To experience everything Buckinghamshire has to offer this Summer, book a stay at the Bull Hotel. Put your feet up after a long day in one of our 150 peaceful bedrooms, and stay with the whole family in one of our luxurious family rooms.
