As the days draw in and the weather gets colder, everyone is beginning to feel that festive buzz as the Christmas season is just around the corner. One of the best ways to spend a wintery afternoon is browsing a Christmas market for stocking fillers and delicious treats, and if you’re in the Buckinghamshire area then you will be spoilt for choice for festive events this year. You will find locally made gifts, scrumptious goodies and plenty of mulled wine at the various Christmas events in Buckinghamshire 2018. We’ve created a roundup of our top 5 Christmas fairs and markets in the county this Winter:

  1. Gerrards Cross Christmas Festival 2018

The wonderful town of Gerrards Cross will once again be home to one of the best Christmas events in Buckinghamshire. The Gerrards Cross Christmas Festival 2018 will take place on Wednesday 5th December between 5.30pm and 8pm, and will be hosted by comedian and entertainer, Tom O’ Connor. He will be switching on the town’s Christmas lights to kick off the festival, which will then see local school choirs perform and nearby businesses offer festive activities. There will be stalls selling tasty treats such as mince pies and mulled wine, and various craft activities for the little ones to enjoy.

 

  1. Waddesdon Christmas Fair 2018

The annual Christmas Fair at Waddesdon in Aylesbury will be a week longer than ever before in 2018. Opening on 10th November for five full weeks of festive fun, you can expect 20ft Christmas trees, over 80 hand-selected exhibitors and a magical light and sound show. It is the perfect event for finding unique Christmas gifts for all your loved ones whilst enjoying some wonderful festive food and drinks.

 

  1. Santa’s Sunday in Aylesbury

An annual event that is a real favourite among local families, the Santa’s Sunday parade will take place on 25th November and will be led by an amazing snow lion. The festive fair will include bouncing snowmen, stilt walkers, real donkeys, a samba band and local music and dance group performances. The Buckinghamshire town is home to an array of independent and national shops, perfect for getting a head start on your Christmas shopping.

 

  1. High Wycombe Christmas Lights Switch-On

On the 15th November 2018, head to High Wycombe for the popular Christmas Lights Switch-On event. There will be Santa and sleigh rides for the little ones and mulled wine and minced pies for parents, alongside excellent street entertainment. A special guest is rumoured to make an appearance, and the Christmas themed market will be open so you can pick up some unique stocking fillers and decorations.

 

  1. Aylesbury Christmas Craft and Gift Fair

Buckinghamshire’s largest free Christmas Craft and Gift Fair will be taking place in Aylesbury on 2nd December between 11am and 3pm. Boasting over 75 stalls, there will be a huge assortment of locally produced items such as Christmas decorations, jewellery, soft furnishings, gifts, cosmetics, soaps, candles, food, craft beer and much, much more. Live music and an array of tasty street food will be on offer to complete the Christmas market experience.
