Easter Holidays 2017 in Buckinghamshire

The Easter Holidays 2017 are fast approaching and you may suddenly be realising your little bundles of joy are going to be off school for a couple of weeks, with only you on hand to entertain them. Don’t panic, there is still time to plan some cracking activities and days out for the kids in Buckinghamshire, that don’t involve gorging on chocolate. Whether you want to hunt down eggs, get up close and personal with nature, or enjoy the Spring weather with a dip in an open air pool; there is something for even the fussiest of children to enjoy!

Go Horse Riding

Buckinghamshire countryside is quintessentially British, and what better way to eggs-plore the great outdoors than on horseback? Aescwood Farms Children’s Riding School is a family run business that has been providing horse riding in Buckinghamshire for over 30 years. During the school holidays, they will be offering Horse Riding Fundays, where everyone from complete beginners to competent riders are welcome to spend a day with the ponies!

Chiltern Open Air Museum

A great day out for families of all ages, the Chiltern Open Air Museum offers 45 acres of rescued historic buildings, woodland trails and farmland. During school holidays the museum holds Terrific Tuesdays where kids can get involved with egg-cellent themed crafts, games and activities.

Open Air Swimming

Now we have begun to Spring into warmer weather, it’s the perfect opportunity to take the little ones for a dip in Chesham’s Open Air Swimming Pool. Don’t worry, the pool is heated all year round so if the warm weather isn’t holding out for you, you can still enjoy a splash. During the school holidays the pool puts on egg-stra special inflatable fun sessions throughout the week.

Bekonscot Model Village

This model village hasn’t been awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Egg-cellence for nothing! The park boasts the world’s oldest and original model village. With over 80 years of history, a huge model railway, 1.5 acres of gardens, and a ride-on railway, it is a perfect day out for all the family.

Odds Farm Park

Spring is well under way at Odds Farm Park this year, with plenty of new arrivals to meet during the Easter Holidays 2017.It’s no yolk how much Easter fun there is to be had at the farm this year, with daily shows from the Oddsocks family, arts & crafts by Grandma Oddsocks, tractor and trailer rides, and the Easter Bunny Trail!

Easter Sunday Lunch and Easter Egg Hunt

On the 16th April 2017 the Bull Hotel is serving up an eggs-traordinary Easter carvery, followed by an Easter Egg hunt in the beautiful gardens. For just £27.50 per adult for a scrumptious 3 course meal, and every child will receive a special Easter Egg surprise, so it is sure to be a hoppy Easter for everyone!
