Steaming Open Days at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre
A visit to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, open since the 1890s, is a must for the Steam Train enthusiast. The centre is a working Steam Museum with one of the largest collections of locomotives in the UK. Enthusiasts can take advantage of unlimited free train rides whilst the younger enthusiasts can take a ride on the 1 km-long miniature railway complete with crossings, loops, stations and tunnels.
The Centre also hosts regular ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ weekends, and, at this time of the year, offers Festive Thomas the Tank Engine events. So look online for details.
Experience the luxury of travel for our Royal family back in 1901 with a look around the Royal Dining Coach and experience a touch of history with a tour of the coach used by Winston Churchill and Dwight D. Eisenhower for their secret war strategy planning meetings.
The Visitor Centre also displays many historic exhibits and the Gift shop has some fantastic Christmas ideas for the enthusiasts. When you need a break, the Refreshment room is open throughout the day for a good old English Brew.
Not far from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre you will find the Bull Hotel. Between 23rd October and 9th November we are offering an evening meal and overnight accommodation for two at the amazing price of £99. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of our lounge bar, the local ales in Jack Shrimpton Bar and modern European cuisine in the award-winning Beeches Restaurant.
